2. By painting the living room when the kids go to bed
3. With scallops and frozen yogurt
4. With hopes that next year, we’re settled enough to get invited to the big party at the farm down the road
5. With thankfullness for the little things

Going to work, but having a carpool party with three of my coworkers
Will try to spend some extra time talking with my patients, who would much rather be welcoming the New Year at home…

Running the Burke Gilman trail to Gasworks Park to watch the Space Needle’s midnight fireworks. And fresh bed sheets – the flannel ones.

Thanks for sharing, J! Here’s what I’ve been doing to start the new year right:
–Writing, lots, today!
–Staying in the moment
–Walking in the snow in the sun
–Meditating
–Remembering… One Thing at a Time.
–Drinking a beer
–Making a truly heavenly red lentil dal
–Centering on the Serenity Prayer, and its lesser known second half: patience for things that take time, appreciation for all that I have, tolerance for struggles that are different than mine, the courage to get up again tomorrow and try again.
